Everything you need to know about 2 post lifts
2 Post lifts are often cited as the most common type of lifts available. They're known for their sturdy posts and supportive stabilization arms. These lifts are a more cost-effective alternative for amateurs and smaller repair shops. They also leave a smaller footprint than their 4 post counterparts.
We carry a wide variety but before we show you what we have in stock, we'd like to briefly go over the different types of 2 post lifts.
Symmetrical 2 Post Lifts
Symmetrical lifts are easier to identify because their posts face each other directly. And the support arms assemblies each hold about 50% of the load.
Asymmetrical 2 Post Lifts
Asymmetrical lifts have swing arms that are not the same length in the front and back and have a rotated post design.
Versymmetrical 2 Post Lifts
Versymmetrical lifts provide users with the ability to take advantage of being both asymmetric and symmetric. This allows you to reap the benefits of both types of lifts. Versymmetric two post lifts are capable of lifting all 20 of the most popular service vehicles. These include Ford F-Series, Chevy Silverado, Nissan Altima, and the GMC Sierra among others.
Other types of two-post lifts include overhead lifts and floorplate lifts. Overhead lifts have the hydraulic hose and equalization cables running through the top of the lift. While such cables run on the bottom in floorplate lifts.

Choose the Right Equipment for Your Garage
Each type of 2-post vehicle lift for sale comes with different configurations and features. Before you settle on a specific model, consider the features that you need.
Many models have a direct-drive design, which uses hydraulic cylinders for the heavy lifting instead of cables and chains (which wear out frequently). It saves you more time and money repairs while promoting safety. Other 2-post car lift models have superior arm restraints, larger equalizer cable pulleys, and a sturdier design, which are ideal for heavier vehicles.
Do you often work with wider vehicles? Look for lifts with triple telescoping front arms. This feature gives you easy access to jacking points. Our selection also includes symmetrical models, which center the car’s reach between the two opposite posts, which is ideal for rear-end heavy cars.
