Return Policy

What is the return policy for purchases made on

  • Elcometer offer a 7 day money back guarantee for our items. If a product needs to be returned for a refund, you will need to contact us and we will assist you in returning your product.
  • The gauge and components must be returned in the condition it was received, including all accessories and the carry case.

Elcometer provides a comprehensive warranty policy.

Elcometer gauges are covered by warranty for 12 months after date of delivery. Except for fair wear and tear, Elcometer warrants products against defects caused by faulty design, materials or workmanship. At the company's discretion faulty gauges or probes will be replaced or repaired, free of charge, if a fault develops within the warranty period.

Warranty of coating thickness gauge probes.

Elcometer coating thickness gauge probes are covered by warranty for 12 months after the date of delivery except for fair wear and tear. Most warranty claims occur within a few weeks of delivery of the gauge.

The serial numbers associated with the gauges give an indication of the date when the gauge was manufactured and this will be the first date against which warranty will be judged. If the serial number does not confirm the customers claim for warranty, the second date referenced is that of the invoice when the gauge or probe was shipped.

If the gauge or probe was held in stock by the Distributor or Dealer the date of shipment to the customer will be used. Proof of this date may be requested and should be in the form of a copy of the invoice showing the serial number of the gauge or probe.

Warranties through a Distributor or Dealer?

It should be noted that most claims for warranty through Distributors and Dealers are accepted up to 15 months after the date of manufacture as it is recognized that distribution of product to an End-User can take some time and gauges are sometimes not used immediately they are delivered. However, there have been occasions when claims for warranty have been made by customers beyond the warranty period and these can not be accepted or supported.
