The four kinds of ADAS calibration system in this category

1. Mobile frame systems (Autel MA600 family)

The MA600 is a collapsible aluminum calibration frame built to travel. Its listing describes a frame that "folds and disassembles to easily fit into the trunk of a car or service truck," and the spec table backs that up: net weight is 100.8 lbs, split into a 53.6 lb base and a 47.2 lb main column plus crossbar; it ships as two packages with a total gross weight of 190.2 lbs. Positioning is done with a 2-line centering laser, a 5-line alignment laser, a laser-assisted reflector, a laser reflective board, an L bracket and a plumb line -- all listed as included accessories.

Six MA600 configurations are listed. The bare MA600 Mobile ADAS System carries the frame, the positioning accessories and, per its listing, LDW targets for numerous vehicle manufacturers -- the listing does not name which. MA60020 is the packaged LDW configuration, listed with the frame, the LDW target set and the ADAS calibration software at $9,585, which is fifteen dollars below the $9,600 asked for the bare MA600; compare the two contents lists rather than the prices. MA60020T adds an MS909 tablet and MaxiFlash VCI on top of the MA60020. MAS20 is the all-systems version, carrying LDW, AVM, NVS, ACC, BSD, LiDAR and RCW targets plus a one-year ADAS software application, and MAS20T pairs that with the MS909 tablet. The sixth is MA600CORE2, which bundles the MA600 frame with a crossbar extension, an MS906PRO tablet with the ADAS software upgrade, a Bluetooth VCI200, a digital tape measure, and LDW patterns for VW, Porsche and Subaru along with LDW targets for Nissan, Infiniti, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Mercedes, Hyundai, Kia, Honda, Acura, Toyota and Lexus.

2. Frames that also perform wheel alignment (IA900WA and IA700)

The Autel IA900WA is described as a wheel alignment and ADAS calibration frame that "enables the performance of four-wheel alignment and ADAS component calibration," with illustrated instructions, live readings and adjustment locations shown on an included 24 in. touchscreen. Alignment coverage is stated as U.S., Asian and European vehicles, 1996 and newer. It is sold in six versions: the frame alone (IA900WA), with the MSULTRAADAS tablet (IA900WAT), with LDW targets (IA900LDW), with LDW targets and tablet (IA900LDWT), with the full LDW, AVM, NVS, ACC, BSD, LiDAR and RCW target set (IA900AS), and that same all-systems package with a tablet (IA900AST -- see the note on its tablet below).

The IA700 is the newer modular answer for shops that move between bays or between locations. Its listing claims optical positioning "that reduces target setup by 6X versus mechanical measurement," unlevel floor compensation "that eliminates failed calibrations due to uneven surfaces," and integrated alignment pre-check in one workflow. The frame carries a robotic crossbar and six high-definition positioning and tracking cameras, and it disassembles quickly for transport. Two details matter for anyone who already owns Autel gear: the IA700 is stated as compatible with MA600 and IA900 targets, patterns and calibration components, and an IA900 owner who buys an IA700 can, per the listing, double calibration capacity without buying additional targets. The line ships in six packages, and they split on the tablet: IA700, IA700LDW and IA700AS state that they require a MaxiSYS Ultra Series tablet plus the ADAS upgrade, sold separately, while IA700T, IA700LDWT and IA700AST list a MaxiSYS MS909 tablet and MaxiFlash VCI as included.

The IA1000ASTDT is listed but is not currently available to order online -- contact us for availability. It is described as a next-generation calibration and alignment system with robotic one-step forward-facing target positioning, high-definition optical cameras, laser-guided Blind Spot, ACC and AVM pattern positioning, and automated unlevel floor compensation. Its listing says the alignment data "surpasses the industry standard of camber, caster, and toe" and that pre- and post-scan reports document every calibration. The package includes the IA1000 frame, the MaxiSYS Ultra S2 tablet, an IA1000 activation card, LDW targets, all-systems calibration equipment, and digital targets consisting of three monitors with their own activation card.

3. Optical positioning added to a frame you already own (IA800)

The IA800 Intelligent ADAS is not a frame. Its listing states plainly that the frame is not included. What it does is bolt an optical positioning system onto an Autel Standard Calibration Frame: six high-resolution cameras that deliver three-dimensional adjustment for frame centering and vehicle distance recognition, optically measuring two wheel-clamp targets instead of taking mechanical measurements. The listing claims frame positioning can be completed "in as little as 1 minute." Its itemized contents list names six high-resolution cameras, two wheel clamps for ADAS calibration and four wheel clamps for alignment verification; a feature bullet on the same page also credits it with targets and a power supply, so confirm the packing list before ordering. At $3,695, the IA800 adds optical positioning to a Standard Calibration Frame that is already in the bay, without replacing the frame.

4. Target kits that run on the scan tool you already have (Hofmann EZ-ADAS)

The four Hofmann products take a different approach. EZ-ADAS "integrates with your existing ADAS-capable diagnostic tool" rather than requiring a specific tablet, and centers the vehicle using a mirror laser stand plus a patent-pending target placement guide-plate that shows the vehicle centerline. A companion mobile app supplies OEM data and 3D videos for target placement. The system folds up and rolls away when not in use.

The EESE900BK Basic ADAS Kit includes front camera targets. The EESE900DX Deluxe kit adds rear camera targets and radar reflectors to those front camera targets. The EESE900DXC is the Deluxe kit with the target storage cart included; that cart is also sold on its own as the EAA0496L20B, which the listing describes as holding all EZ-ADAS recalibration targets and accessories with room left for other calibration tools. Both Deluxe kits, EESE900DX and EESE900DXC, are flagged for free shipping on their product pages; the Basic kit and the cart are not.

The frame is one purchase, the coverage is another

Every Autel expansion package in this category carries a note that the frame is not included -- all sixteen of them. They are split by which frame they mount to and which sensor family they calibrate.

• Lane Departure Warning. LDWTARGET1 carries 13 items covering Honda, Acura, Nissan, Infiniti, Hyundai, Kia, Toyota, Lexus and Mercedes, including the LDWII target board holder. LDWTARGET2 adds Mazda, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Mercedes and Nissan/Infiniti LDWIII. LDWTARGET3 is the smallest, with four targets: Subaru CSC0601-17, Alfa Romeo LDWIII CSC0601-10, Toyota/Lexus LDWIII CSC0601-25 and Hyundai/Kia LDWIII CSC0701-23. MA600LDW3 is the MA600-frame package at the same $1,540, but it is not an identical kit: it shares the Subaru CSC0601-17, Alfa Romeo CSC0601-10 and Toyota/Lexus CSC0601-25 targets, then swaps the Hyundai/Kia CSC0701-23 of LDWTARGET3 for the Honda/Acura LDWIII CSC0601-24. Check which of those two makes you calibrate before ordering.
• Radar. ADASRAD1 (standard frame) and MA600RAD1 (MA600 frame) both carry the ACC reflector CSC0602-01 and radar calibration plate CSC0602-02, plus blind-spot hardware. The MA600 version additionally lists the MA600RAP mounting plate and is stated to enable night vision work as well.
• Around View Monitoring. ADASAVM1 is a floor-pattern package with AVM patterns for Honda, Hyundai/Kia, Cadillac, Mitsubishi and Toyota, AVM and RCW patterns for Volkswagen and Nissan, and Rear Collision Warning patterns for Mercedes -- there is no Mercedes AVM pattern in this package. Individual AVM patterns are also sold: CSC1004-01 for VW 360, CSC1004-05 for Ford and CSC1004-07 for Porsche, all described as heavy-duty vinyl designed for repeated use.
• Night vision. ADASNV1 and MA600NV1 each contain the Audi/VW/GM calibrator, the Lexus NV pattern and the Mercedes NV stand.
• Numbered calibration packages. Six products bundle several sensor families at once for a frame you already own. On the Autel Standard Frame: ADASCAL1 ($7,885, AVM patterns for VW, Honda and Cadillac plus blind-spot detection hardware, night vision, RCW and an ACC radar calibration plate), ADASCAL2 ($3,285, Toyota and Mitsubishi AVM, a Hitachi ACC radar plate, Honda LaneWatch and Nissan RCWII) and ADASCAL4 ($3,610, Toyota and VW/Audi LiDAR, Toyota/Lexus night vision, a VW/Audi ACC plate, Hyundai/Kia and Nissan/Infiniti AVM, and Mercedes RCWII). On the MA600 frame: MA600CAL1 ($5,470), MA600CAL3 ($4,940) and MA600CAL4 ($3,610). ADASCAL2 is the only one its listing calls compatible with the standard and MA600 frames both.
• Everything at once. ADASCALD is the all-makes expansion for the Autel Standard Frame, listing camera, radar, night vision and LiDAR components, AVM targets for Cadillac, Honda, VW, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, Toyota and Mitsubishi, a Doppler simulator and Continental calibrator, a Honda LaneWatch target, RCW targets for Nissan, Mercedes and VW, and LiDAR devices for VW, Audi and Toyota.

Two positioning aids are worth knowing about because they cut setup time without touching coverage. DIGITALADAS supplies left and right front wheel targets, three digital tape measures, two crossbar brackets, a center bracket and two placement boards intended for use on an alignment lift; its listing calls it compatible with the Autel ADAS Calibration Frame. On the IA900WA side, the 500-20 ride height targets remove manual wheel height measurement, and the 500-21 wide angle target attaches to the wheel clamps so the cameras keep sight of them through a maximum-angle caster sweep.

Space, floor, clearance and power

The MA600 is the only product in this category that publishes a full dimensional and electrical table, so use it as the reference point and request the spec sheet for any other model.

• Footprint and height: 2510 mm (98.82 in.) wide by 714 mm (28.11 in.) deep, with overall height adjustable from 1480 mm (58.27 in.) up to 2105 mm (82.87 in.). That crossbar width means at least 8 ft 3 in. of clear space across the front of the vehicle, and the tall setting needs close to 7 ft of headroom (82.87 in.).
• Adjustment ranges: crossbar height from 350 mm (13.78 in.) up to 950 mm (37.40 in.); pattern board height from 1000 mm (39.37 in.) up to 1600 mm (62.99 in.). Pattern board size is 1360 mm by 960 mm (53.54 in. by 37.80 in.).
• Power: rated 24 V at 3 A. The lasers run on their own 3 V, 25 mA supply from two AA 1.5 V cells, so no separate laser circuit is needed.
• Environment: working temperature 0 C to 50 C, storage temperature -20 C to 60 C.

Floor condition is the variable that separates the older frames from the newer ones. The IA700 and the IA1000 both advertise unlevel floor compensation, described on the IA700 listing as eliminating failed calibrations caused by uneven surfaces. Nothing in the MA600 or IA900WA listings claims that capability, which is one reason a shop with a sloped or patched floor should look at the IA700 line. Separately, the ADASWAUPGRADE listing states that the IA900WA is used to "monitor and perform wheel alignment on alignment rack," so the IA900WA presumes a rack is already in the bay -- it is not a substitute for one.

Not every listing publishes shipping weight or footprint, and none of the listings in this category specify a compressed air requirement. For anything beyond the MA600 figures above, check the specification sheet on the individual model page or contact us before you commit bay space.

The tablet is a separate decision

Most Autel frames here are sold without a tablet, and the listings say so explicitly. The MA60020, MAS20, IA900WA and IA900AS all carry a "tablet not included" note, and so do the three IA700 packages sold without a tablet -- IA700, IA700LDW and IA700AS -- which state that they require a MaxiSYS Ultra Series tablet plus the ADAS upgrade, sold separately. The T versions (IA700T, IA700LDWT, IA700AST) instead list a MaxiSYS MS909 tablet and MaxiFlash VCI as included. Note that the MS909 those T packages ship with is not itself an Ultra Series tablet; confirm the tablet model on the exact SKU before ordering.

Three products in this category close that gap. The ADASUPGRADE software card adds ADAS calibration functionality to a MaxiSYS tablet you already own. Its listing scopes that compatibility to the Standard and MA600 frame systems and names eight tablets: MS908, MS908P, MS908S, MS908SP, MSElite, MS909, MS919 and MSUltra. It supports dynamic and static calibrations on U.S., Asian and European ADAS-equipped vehicles, and it notes that static calibrations still require a compatible Autel calibration system. It is not the card for the IA700 or IA900WA lines -- those call for a MaxiSYS Ultra Series tablet. The ADASWAUPGRADE card is the IA900WA-specific version, which its listing ties to a MaxiSYS Ultra tablet and the IA900WA frame, adding both wheel alignment and ADAS calibration software to that tablet and enabling simulcast from the Ultra to the IA900WA touchscreen monitor.

Certifications declared on these listings

The MA600 is the one product in this category whose listing publishes a certification line: CE, FCC and RoHS. It also declares Class 2 for its centering and alignment lasers. No listing in this category declares ALI, ETL or ASME marks -- those apply to lifts and pressure vessels, which is a different category of equipment. If a specific certificate is required by your insurer or by an OEM certification program, ask for the compliance documentation on the exact model before ordering.

Model comparison

Where two listings in this category disagree

A few product pages contradict each other, and the product name and parts list are the more reliable source in each case. The ADASRAD1 listing names both a "Corner Reflector Stand CSC0802-01" and a "Corner Reflector CSC0802-01" under the same part number; the MA600RAD1, ADASCAL1 and MA600CAL1 listings all identify the stand as CSC0800 and the reflector as CSC0802-01, so treat CSC0800 as the stand. The ADASNV1 and MA600NV1 pages both open with a bullet describing an Around View Monitoring floor pattern package, but their names and their parts lists are unambiguously night vision -- the Audi/VW/GM calibrator, the Lexus NV pattern and the Mercedes NV stand. Part CSC0601-17 for Subaru is labeled LDWII on the LDWTARGET3 page and LDWIII on the MA600LDW3 page; the part number is the same either way.

Two more are worth checking before you order. The IA900AST is named as an MSULTRAADAS package, but its own contents list and its feature list both name a MaxiSYS MS909 tablet with MaxiFlash VCI; its sibling packages IA900WAT and IA900LDWT name the Ultra ADAS tablet in both places, so confirm the tablet model on the IA900AST specifically. And the IA800 listing disagrees with itself: a feature bullet says it includes "cameras, wheel clamps, targets, and power supply," while the itemized Includes list names only 6 high-resolution cameras, 2 wheel clamps for ADAS calibration and 4 wheel clamps for alignment verification. If a specific target generation or a specific tablet is what you are buying for, confirm the part number rather than the label.

Frequently asked questions

Does an ADAS calibration frame come with the targets?

Often not, and the listings say so. The IA900WA and the base IA700 are frames and positioning hardware only. The MA600 is the exception among the bare frames: its listing states that it includes LDW targets for numerous vehicle manufacturers, without naming which. The bundled versions are the ones that carry a defined target set: MA60020 and MA600CORE2 for LDW, MAS20, IA700AS and IA900AS for all systems. Every Autel expansion package in this category -- ADASCAL1, ADASCAL2, ADASCAL4, ADASCALD, MA600CAL1, MA600CAL3, MA600CAL4, LDWTARGET1 through 3, MA600LDW3, and the radar, AVM and night vision packages -- carries an explicit note that the frame is not included.

Can I use my existing scan tool instead of buying a tablet?

It depends on the brand. The Hofmann EZ-ADAS kits are designed to integrate with your existing ADAS-capable diagnostic tool. On the Autel side, the ADASUPGRADE card adds ADAS calibration to a MaxiSYS tablet you already own; its listing scopes that compatibility to the Standard and MA600 frame systems and names eight models: MS908, MS908P, MS908S, MS908SP, MSElite, MS909, MS919 and MSUltra. It is not the card for the IA700 or IA900WA lines. The IA700 packages sold without a tablet (IA700, IA700LDW, IA700AS) and the IA900WA call for a MaxiSYS Ultra Series tablet, with the ADASWAUPGRADE card required for wheel alignment on the IA900WA.

What is the difference between the MA600 and the IA700?

Both are transportable, but they position differently. The MA600 uses 2-line and 5-line lasers, a laser reflector and a plumb line -- manual measurement. If you want a digital tape measure with an MA600, the MA600CORE2 package includes one; the separate DIGITALADAS kit is listed for the Autel ADAS Calibration Frame, with placement boards intended for use on an alignment lift, so confirm compatibility with your frame before ordering. The IA700 uses six HD cameras and a robotic crossbar, and its listing claims target setup 6X faster than mechanical measurement plus unlevel floor compensation and an integrated alignment pre-check. The IA700 also accepts MA600 and IA900 targets, patterns and components, which is why the listing recommends it to existing MA600 owners.

How much room does the equipment need?

Take the MA600 as the benchmark: 98.82 in. across at the crossbar, 28.11 in. deep, and up to 82.87 in. tall at full extension, which calls for at least 8 ft 3 in. of clear width in front of the vehicle and close to 7 ft of headroom. Radar work adds hardware to store and set up: the 802-01 corner reflector and stand is listed at 52 in. long by 16 in. wide by 12 in. high and 39.7 lbs (18 kg). The listings do not state the working distance radar calibration requires -- that comes from the OEM procedure for the specific model, so allow for the vehicle length plus that distance.

Which system fits a shop that already runs wheel alignments?

If a rack is already in place, the IA900WA line adds calibration on top of four-wheel alignment for 1996-and-newer U.S., Asian and European vehicles, with the readings on a 24 in. touchscreen. If the bays are shared or the floor is uneven, the IA700 line brings alignment pre-check plus unlevel floor compensation and moves between bays. If an Autel Standard Frame is already installed and the only complaint is setup time, the IA800 adds optical positioning to it for $3,695 without replacing the frame.

What if a specification I need is not listed?

The MA600 is the only model in this category with a full published dimensional, electrical and temperature table.
