Vehicle-specific service tools for jobs a general-purpose wrench will not do. The largest family here is fuel, A/C and transmission line disconnect tools in Jiffy-tite, angled and scissor styles, plus versions listed for Ford, GM, Chrysler and Toyota. Around them: oil and fuel filter wrenches, pickle forks and ball joint separators, line stoppers and hose pinchers, door panel, body trim and windshield clip tools, and terminal and spark plug wire tools.

Engine work too: ring compressors, a ridge reamer and valve spring compressors. Lisle supplies most of it; Schley, Assenmacher and Trac fill in. Platform picks: the Schley 99800A for late-model GM and Chrysler pressed-on water pump pulleys (needs Schley #95210), the 61500B for GM Duramax fan clutches, the Lisle 14440 for GM Northstar water pumps and the 38210 Dodge hub kit.
