Wheel Nut Retainer

A wheel nut retainer links two adjacent nuts so neither can back off on its own. AME describes its Zafety Lug Lock as made to keep lug nuts from loosening by locking two adjacent nuts together, preventing wheel-off incidents on trucks and buses. Two brands are stocked here: AME International and Checkpoint.

AME Zafety Lug Locks suit 33mm nuts on 22mm studs, in 3.5" or 4-1/8" bolt-hole spacing, rated 300°F or 450°F, in high-visibility colors. Checkpoint Checklinks retain and also indicate wheel overheating from faulty brakes or bearings, melting at 257°F, in 21, 22, 32, 33 and 38mm. The reusable stainless Checklock and the capped Luglock cover 33mm. Tools include the AME 62950 install tool and the Luglock removal lever.
