8 Best Auto Repair Shop Websites to Model After
Posted by Johnny Keys on 1st May 2021
When it comes to creating the perfect auto repair shop website, finding examples to emulate can be tough.
You’ve likely browsed through dozens of sites but none really seem to stand out as the prime example. Not to worry, we’re here to help you be the auto repair shop website to emulate.
What makes a great Auto Repair Shop Website?
Creating a website can be time-consuming, but not knowing where to start is worse. This is why we have made it our mission to help you skip the arduous process of looking for the best auto repair shop websites.
In order to crack the very exclusive top 8 on our list, a website needs to contain one or many of the following characteristics.
- Modern Design
- Easy to navigate
- Informative
- Real Images
- Human touch
Most of those are self-explanatory but the last two are represented by how much work a shop owner puts into showing a real garage with real people. Think of yourself as someone searching for a shop near you.
If you stumble on a website with buzzwords in the content and pictures of technicians looking like Henry Cavill, you question their legitimacy. Call me old-fashioned but I like real people, not generic content.
Green Garage
Right off the bat, you’re enticed by Nelson’s Green garage’s bright green color and 200+ reviews. You can also tell the image on the banner portrays a real tech and not stock photography.
Below the fold of the page, they have an about us section that succinctly expresses what they do and who they serve. They also have an image gallery that covers our human touch requirement.
What sticks out the most about their homepage is the bottom part of the page that features a book an appointment form.
Yellowbird Auto Center
Yellowbird auto center cracks the top 3 mainly because of its eclectic mix of modern design with real images taken with what seems to be a cell phone.
It’s a very hipster-like website that is perfect for the community of Brooklyn, NY that they serve.
I’m an SEO and blogging buff so I’m not a fan of their site only being one page. But it surely benefits them as it's short and sweet.
River North Collision Repair
Most auto repair shop websites likely resemble river north collision repair and that’s fine. This site uses a simple theme (that can be purchased for about $80) and just use your own images and content to fill in.
Sometimes simple is good and these guys are precisely that. The site is easy to navigate and displays exactly what they do and how they do it. Though their logo can use some work (I hope you’re reading this river north collision repair), I applaud their simplicity.
Sunnyside Auto Service
Sunnyside auto service site looks like it was built by marketing experts and their owners spared no expense to get their web presence up and running.
Their main banner features a scheduled service call to action, below the fold of the page they display their specials and their testimonials are exhibited on their homepage as well.
The is still under construction but this is a template to keep in mind when browsing through website types.
Cathedral Automotive
Sometimes simple is better and Cathedral Automotive uses simplicity as its homerun swing. They built a modern website using traditional fonts and colors. They feature reviews, services, and real pictures of their facilities.
Cathedral really pushes their reviews so they display Yelp, Carfax, and Google Reviews everywhere.
Cowboys Garage
The image they use in the middle of the homepage betrays our code of no stock photography ethics but the banner can’t be ignored.
Cowboys garage in San Antonio has as its main banner, not an image but a video. This video highlights their technicians at work and the shop.
Another one-pager, this auto repair shop website highlights the 6 services they specialize in right on their homepage.
Hector’s Auto Repair
Most of you will probably start with a site like this and that’s ok. Hector’s auto repair is a simple website using just 3 colors and lots of text.
Hector’s does a really good job highlighting the vehicles they service and the services they provide. If you don’t want to spend too much on design, this would be the type of site you should shoot for.
Scott’s Auto Repair
It seems like the best auto repair shop websites are based in Texas and Scott’s auto repair immediately caught my eye. Not because their facilities are modern or because of their great reviews. Instead, I like that the webmaster that created the site had the idea of guiding the user through the site.
By guiding the user with numbered steps, they’re telling the reader what’s important and in what order the site should be navigated.
Collins Auto Care
Nothing says neighborhood shop more than featuring a technician or owner on a homepage banner and very few auto repair shop websites do this.
Collins Auto care is a real family business but don’t take our word for it, check out their about page. This is exactly what I had in mind when I said adding a human touch to every auto repair shop website.
Other things to Keep in Mind
By now you’ve probably realized that the main banner is prime real estate. This means that what you choose to add to your banner has to be something that you feel your customers (both current and potential) need to know about your shop.
Homepages tend to be the main page where your users land when searching for you online. So why not add only the most important things? These are, before and after images, testimonials, your contact info in the form of calls to action, and pictures of your techs in action.
